Draymond Pops Off Again, This Time On Shaq

It appears Draymond Green has gotten restless during his time away from basketball and instead of taking shots at players on the court, he’s decided to poke the bear off it. Draymond made an appearance on the “All The Smoke” podcast and said his teammate Steph Curry and himself would have “destroyed” Shaq in the pick-and-roll. Not a good strategy to come at one of the greatest centers of all time. News trickled up to Shaq and his rebuttal was:

"I like Draymond. I like guys that voice their opinion, I try not to get personal with guys. I like him, I like the way he plays. You have to listen to his points. He made good, key points. He said in ‘their’ era. He didn't say in ‘my’ era ... In my era, the Warriors would have been the six or seven seed. You had us, you had San Antonio, you had the Utah Jazz, you had Portland, you had White Chocolate and C-Webb in Sacramento. But again, it's his opinion. I try not to get personal with people's opinions. But however, Mr. Draymond, like you said, I would've torn your ass up on that block."

Classic Shaq, as cool and calm as anybody. Is there validity to his points? I’m not exactly sure I buy the Warriors being a six or seven seed in any era but that’s semantics. It’s a zero sum argument, much like the LeBron/MJ debate. No one is going to walk away feeling as though they had won but I certainly won’t tell them to stop, it’s what makes the NBA so enjoyable. In no other league does it feel like the players are as outspoken as they are in the NBA. The drama is real and I’m very much here for it.
