Tulane Guard Teshaun Hightower Arrested And Charged With Murder

Last Saturday night Tulane Guard Teshaun Hightower was arrested and charged with MURDER, aggravated assault, battery and possession of a firearm in his hometown of Georgia. He was born and raised in Georgia where he would ultimately start his college basketball career at the University of Georgia in 2017. He transferred to Tulane in the 2019-2020 and had a hell of a year averaging 15.9 points and 4.6 rebounds. He declared for the NBA draft a week before he was arrested. Tulane dismissed him from the program on Sunday morning.

This is insane. Now we still don’t know if he did it for sure, but regardless he was involved. I think sometimes we look at these college basketball players as simply basketball players, and nothing more. Ignoring the fact that these players have lives outside of the game of basketball. You see a guy on TV and the last thing you’d consider is one of these players being capable of murder. A solid amount of these kids are raised in horrible environments and are surrounded and raised around crime. They turn to basketball as an outlet. A place to get away from all of it. Now, I’m not saying this is the case for Hightower, but I’d think the chances are high. It just sucks to see a NBA caliber player throw away his career like this. If he wasn’t going to be a NBA player, he atleast had a legitimate shot at it. Now those chances are nothing but gone.
